  • Respect and Courtesy: Treat everyone you interact with, including students, teachers, staff, and fellow volunteers, with respect and courtesy. This includes using polite language, avoiding gossip or discriminatory comments, and being mindful of cultural and religious sensitivities.
  • Punctuality and Reliability: Be punctual for your volunteer shifts and fulfill your commitments reliably. This shows dedication and professionalism, and it ensures the smooth running of our programs and activities.
  • Enthusiasm and Positive Attitude: Come prepared to contribute with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Your willingness to learn and collaborate will create a more engaging and enriching experience for everyone involved.

Dress Code During Your Stay

While there is no strict uniform, we encourage volunteers to dress modestly and appropriately for the activities they are involved in. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Modesty: Opt for clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Avoid revealing clothing such as tank tops, crop tops, or short skirts/shorts.
  • Comfort and Safety: Choose comfortable clothing that allows for movement and is suitable for the planned activities. For instance, if participating in sports or outdoor activities, opt for sportswear that allows for flexibility and breathability.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Be mindful of cultural sensitivities when choosing your attire. When in doubt, err on the side of more conservative clothing.

Remember, these are just general guidelines. If you have any questions or concerns about appropriate attire for a specific activity, please don’t hesitate to ask an SVF staff member. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a respectful and inclusive environment for all.
