POWER OF TODAY

Ever feel like you’re constantly on autopilot, rushing from one thing to the next? We all do this, it is our human tendency.

It’s easy to get caught up in the stress of everyday life. But what if there was a way to hit the pause button and truly be present in the moment?

That’s where mindfulness comes in. Mindfulness isn’t some mystical ability – it’s a natural human talent for focusing on the here and now. It’s about being aware of where you are, what you’re doing, and how you’re feeling, without judgment.

The idea is, “If you can focus on social media apps for hours in a stretch, you have the ability to practice Mindfulness. It is a choice.”

ONLY THE PRESENT MOMENT IS REAL AND ONLY THE PRESENT MOMENT MATTERS.

– Swami Chetan

Here’s the key: the only thing that’s truly real is the present moment. The past is gone, and the future hasn’t arrived yet. Anchor yourself in the present, you can let go of anxieties about what happened or what might happen, and focus on what matters most – this very moment.

So how do we cultivate this mindful state? Here are a few simple steps:

  • Open your attention: Take a moment to tune into your surroundings. What sights, sounds, smells, and sensations do you notice?
  • Focus on your breath: This is a powerful way to bring your attention back to the present. Simply observe your breath entering and leaving your body, without trying to control it.
  • Bring awareness to your body: Feel the ground beneath your feet, the chair supporting your back. Scan your body and notice any areas of tension.

Even a few minutes of mindful practice can make a big difference. When you calm the mind and focus on the present, you can better manage anxiety and find inner peace.

Remember, the present moment is the only moment that truly matters, so make the most of it!
